William C. Crawford, 48, of Peru, IN, passed away at 12:20 AM, Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft.Wayne, IN.  He was born in Reseda, CA, on June 27, 1964 the son of William C. and Nancy Morgan Crawford.

 

Bill graduated from W. T. White High School, Dallas, TX in 1982 and the Ivy Tech School of Culinary Arts.  He was a Certified Massage Therapist and was employed as a chef at the Siding Restaurant where he was especially noted for the excellence of his Sunday Buffet.  He was an active member of Ole Olsen and a Peru Township Advisory Board Member.

 

Bill was an animal advocate and volunteered at numerous animal shelters in our community.  He was a beautiful person, a wonderful son, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 

He is survived by his mother Nancy Dice and her husband Donald of Peru; his companion of 20 years Kurt Schindler of Peru; sisters Alicia Burrough and her husband Rodney of Mountainburg, AR, Christi Crawford of Peru, Teri Moore of Peru and Colleen Crawford of Pasadena, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A service celebrating the life of William C. Crawford will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 16, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 West Main Street, Peru with Pastor Stephen Quinlan officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru.  Family and friends will gather from 1:00-4:00 PM, Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru, IN.

My deepest sympathies to Bill's companion Kurt and family. I was lucky to have met Bill during my first years in Los Angeles, and my memories of him are that of the kind, giving, and beautiful person that he was. He will be missed!

Be blessed sweety god knows

Be blessed sweety god knows we both got sung "Happy Birthday" in class together just the other day and laughed by the stove. My heart goes out to his family its so heart breaking that such a good person like him had to go so abruptly with no warning. God wanted him more than we did here and now.... Bless him always .
