Thelma "Scotty" (Scott) Webster

Thelma “Scotty” Webster, 94, of Peru passed away at 8:30 AM, Friday March 29, 2024, at the Waters of Peru. She was born in Logansport, IN on August 19, 1929, the daughter of Leland and Lois Farrer Scott. Scotty married Ben J. Webster on February 26, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1981.

Scotty was a 1946 graduate of Logansport High School and a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was a retired Miami County Superior Court Administrator and Bailiff. During her tenure at the Miami County Superior Court, she adopted Superior Court Judge Bruce Embrey and he affectionately always referred to her as “mom”.

Family was very important to Scotty. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always made everyone she came in contact with feel extra special.

Scotty was also a loyal Notre Dame fan.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria Webster of Peru; brother Thomas Scott of Naples, FL; grandchildren Courtney, Heather, Ryan and Adam and great grandchildren Dakota, Reece, Jack and Sam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben J., her son Tom Webster and grandson Matt Webster.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Thelma “Scotty” Webster will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru with Rev. Michael Block officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru and conclude with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to Miami County Helping Hands.
