Mary E. (Gerardot) Tracey

Mary Elizabeth Tracey, age 95, went to be with the Lord March 16,2024. Mary was born in Allen County, IN, November 4, 1928, the oldest child of Russell and Helen (Rosswurm) Gerardot. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne. She married Maurice Tracey October 18, 1947,at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. Together they loved and raised seven children. Later in life Mary went back to school and earned her LPN license. She worked at hospitals in Peru, Wabash and Kokomo until she retired in 1993. Mary was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Rosary Society at St. Charles Catholic Church in Peru, IN where she was a parishioner for over 60 years. She is survived by seven children: Diane McLaughlin, Richfield, MN, Marcia (Robert) Waters, Linton, IN, Deborah Hoover, Zionsville, IN, Denise Tracey, Peru, IN, John Tracey, Willard, OH, Beth Ann Tracey, Peru, IN, Patrick (Tammy) Tracey, Decatur, IN, twelve grand-children and seven great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband, Maurice L. Tracey, her infant son Maurice L. Tracey, Jr., her parents, her brothers Norman Gerardot and James Gerardot, and her sister Teresa Campbell Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street in Peru. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. Fifth Street, with Father Adam Mauman officiating. Mary will be buried at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles Catholic Church for Masses or Miami County Helping Hands.
