Sonia E. Goodnight, 71, Amboy, IN,  passed away at 4:23 AM, Friday, July 27,2012 at Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo, IN.  She was born in Kettering, England on March 4, 1941 the daughter of Ernest and Emily Wilson Williams.  She married Ronald Goodnight on December 27, 1989 and he survives.

 

Sonia was Roman Catholic by faith and a former employee of Memcor and Carnation. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had walked in the Relay For Life. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and loved animals especially her dog “Buster”.  Sonia was a wonderful cook and a great “Nanna”.

 

Surviving in addition to her husband Ronald are her children Gary Miller of Peru, Mandy Fisher and her husband James of Amboy, Sherrie Beene and her husband Eric of Peru,  Shane Goodnight and his wife Charise of Kokomo, Jason Goodnight of Kokomo and Sasha Lindzy and her husband Greg of Kokomo;  grandchildren Kyonna, Jimmy, Zach, Josh,  Alishea, Tamika, Allyson, Jesse, A.J., Nakona,  and Devaney; great-grandchildren Parker, Jabriel, J.J., Tia, Austin and Kobe; a foster daughter Michelle Bullock;  brothers Tony Murphy and John Murphy and sisters Nina Singer and Dawn Murphy.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jim and Terry Williams.

 

A service celebrating the life of Sonia E. Goodnight will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN with Rev. Ted Dudzinski officiating.  Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy.  Family and friends will gather from 2:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.

 

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Animal Kindness Inc. or the American Cancer Society.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Sonia. The loss of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have confidence and faith in the Bible's future promise of a time when all things like pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My thoughts and condolences are with the family in this time of sadness.
